Who can’t use a little or a lot?

During my varied internet travels I came across some postcards that give a little of something everyone can use, advice, and presented beautifully to boot. Simple phrases presented on postcards in two volumes created by recent graduates of UCF (University College Falmouth).

I’ve purchased Volume two because sadly Vol. 1 is sold out. It wasn’t really a hard decision being as it was only £6.99 and an additional £3.00 for shipping. It also helped having a little cash on my Paypal account I forgot about. Hooray for my faulty memory.

You can see all of the cards here on Flickr or on the Big Cartel site where you can find some great poster prints as well. Here are a few of my favoritos:

Poster Power!

As long as I can remember I’ve always loved band posters. I love the creative liberty a designer has and of course the different styles and techniques used to set it apart from others. Not to mention you can often times get some free prints if you ask the promoter nicely. Poster Cabaret is a great place to get your fill of some awesome poster designs and even buy one if it’s for sale. !NEAT!

Here’s one of my favorites:

Simple can be superior

While perusing one of my favorite design/typography sites, Typography Served, I came across some wonderful magazine layouts and wanted to share how simple type treatment can speak louder than overdone design. It is especially evident on the cover, as the photography is allowed to be the focal point of the reader. This is Jeffrey Docherty’s wonderful work and if you get a chance I highly recommend checking out some of his other work at jeffreydocherty.com as well. Hope you enjoy!
